Stylish simplicity is the theme of Alaïa’s Summer/Fall 2024 Collection as every garment was created with a single yarn to prove that less can mean more. Pieter Mulier focused on utilizing merino wool yarn to create looks that are crafted using expertise from long-time textile and knitwear suppliers. Stunning garments graced the runway as Mulier explored how to utilize restrictions to challenge themselves to create the most innovative designs.
Most of the garments are monochromatic and embellishment-free but still head-turning nonetheless as the designs are sure to make a statement. Intricate fringe tops and dresses, extravagant wool coats, and stunning pleated garments all bring back an elite sophistication that time forgot. Wool trim adorns many of the looks turning simple pieces into one-of-a-kind creations. The only jewelry worn by the models are gold and silver cuffs that stay true to the refined offerings.
This collection is also fit for the chicest vintage lover as silhouettes like the draped one-shoulder dresses evoke a more ’70s feel. The garments suit a multitude of occasions as floor-length gowns are fit for a gala while a knit mini dress with matching underwear peeking out just begs to be worn to the club.
