While summer is in full swing and the oppressive heat seems to be here to stay, Alanui is preparing for a chilly yet chic winter. Taking cues from the South Pole, the Italian brand examines the mystery and magic of a landscape lush with frozen cliffs and untouched wildlife in its newest collection.

The icy inspiration is evident in the garments without being overly obvious or inauthentic. Alanui’s iconic kimono cardigan is offered in luxurious cashmere with an Antarctic landscape. Nautical stripes, astrological signs, and animals native to the South Pole are seen throughout the pieces, taking shape in fabrications such as cable knit, corduroy, and fleece.

Continuing Alanui’s collaboration with Looney Tunes and Warner Bros, characters like Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, and Tweety engage in cheeky winter activities in the collection.

The collection successfully balances the more playful aspects of its cartoon critters with looks that lean toward the sexier side. Alanui proves that the cold doesn’t mean you can’t show off some skin, offering cut-out cardigans that are more revealing than they are cozy, a knit maxi skirt with fringes cut up to the high point of the thigh, and a backless flowing dress.

As a testament to Alanui’s attention to sustainability, the womenswear, menswear, kids line, and accessories for both dogs and humans are made of regenerated alpaca and wool.
