With its new Spring/Summer 2022 collection, Alanui invites you to sit back and relax. The lineup combines a colorful attitude and comfortable yet modern designs inspired by natural themes  and warm destinations such as Hawaii and Jamaica. 

The collection is presented as an island of looks that are meant for everyone – children and pets included – and that evoke the vacation mood through music, sandy beaches, and sitting around bonfires. 

The palette includes soothing tones of beige, yellow, orange, and green, along with bolder colors such as black, teal, red, and blue. Much of the collection was inspired by shades of the summer sea and sky – a couple of designs even feature an illustrated warm sunset at the back. 

Alanui’s signature cardigans are featured in a variety of patterns and colors, including a multicolor graphic intarsia reminiscent of Alighiero Boetti’s tapestries.

Patterns include bandana-like motifs in colors like bright blue and yellow, tropical trees that are printed, knitted, or embroidered on shirts and cardigans, and a set of rainbow stripes against an ivory background. 

The lineup also follows up on the patterned blankets presented earlier this year, and cushions, along with patchwork jackets, sweaters, and shorts – bringing a laid-back ‘70s mood. A special section includes a collaboration with none other than the Rolling Stones, with colorful knitted cardigans and crewnecks featuring the band’s signature bright red tongue logo. 

The rock’n’roll spirit is also channeled through a shiny black leather jacket with a bead string detail dangling from the main zipper closure. The collection emphasizes that being sustainable is cool: according to the label, around 30 percent of the fibers used come from regenerated and recycled materials that are treated to reduce water waste and their carbon footprint. 

In footwear, the brand collaborated with Suicoke to create fringed slippers, available in a range of colors, all featuring bandana-inspired patterns and bead details. Knitted bucket hats in multiple colors with thin braided strings add to the post-surfing energy. 

The kids’ section of the set features the same patterns and motifs of the grown-up styles, including the Rolling Stones’ logo, while accessories for pets include new items created in partnership with Poldo Dog Couture – such as bandana scarves, intarsia Icon sweaters, and transparent waterproof bandana ponchos for rainy days.
