In an exciting announcement, The British Fashion Council has announced that Sudanese supermodel Alek Wek and actor Jack Whitehall will host the 2018 Fashion Awards. In partnership with Swarovski, the annual awards ceremony will take place in London on December 10 at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating the talents of designers, business and industry leaders, models, and more, raising money for the British Fashion Council's charitable initiatives.

On co-hosting this years Fashion Awards with Mr. Whitehall, Wek says, "I am so happy to be in London, the city where I was discovered and which launched my modeling career. I am thrilled to be a part of this year’s Fashion Awards, which give recognition to all aspects of talent working within the fashion industry." 

Owning a career that has spanned nearly two decades in the industry and one that continues to reshape the definition of beauty in the world of fashion, Ms. Wek says, "When I first started my career at the age of 19, I was helped along the way by many different people, some with very established careers and platforms, and others who were just starting out like me.  So I have always felt it was important to give back, and help those who are also starting their journeys."

Selected by an international industry panel of over 2,000 names representative from 32 different countries, the nominees for the 2018 awards include Kim Jones and Riccardo Tisci for Menswear Designer, Clare Waight Keller and Victoria Beckham for Womenswear, Pierpaolo Piccioli and Virgil Abloh for Designer of the Year, and Adut AkechAdwoa AboahBella HadidKaia Gerber and Winnie Harlow for Model of the Year.
