Dance-pop artist Alex Chapman is following up his viral, Kim Petras-led hit song, “Horsey,” with another upbeat club anthem, “LFG.”
“LFG”, short for let’s f*cking go (duh), is a high-energy dance track, fusing classic ’90s production with contemporary house beats. The track, elevated by the sweet voice of singer-songwriter Chloe Angelides, doesn’t stray far from the thumping, autotune-heavy, slightly corny sound we’ve come to expect from Chapman following “Horsey.”
With lyrics like “Let’s f*cking go / Let’s f*cking dance / Put on a show / Throw up your hands,” “LFG” was made for those who want to let it all go in the final few weeks of summer.
“’LFG’ is a motivator—it’s for people who work hard and play hard,” Chapman said. “I want all my songs to sound like they could play in a stadium… if the stadium was full of girls and gays. I think with ‘LFG’ and my first song ‘Horsey’ we are 2 for 2.”
Most recently, Chapman DJed NYC Pride’s Pride Island alongside Lil’ Kim, Kim Petras, Shenseea, and Netta. He’s gaining even more traction as an artist with an opening slot on Kim Petras’ North American and European tours, continuing to emphasize individuality and give his fans space to celebrate the freedom of being who they are.
Dedicating his music to centering queer people, Chapman has become the ultimate escape artist, a voice for a new generation of queerness.
