Alexander McQueen, long the ne plus ultra of structured silhouettes, moody palettes, witchy corsets, and wafty tulles, is courting Sarah Burton’s most recent collection with the stateliest pace of Anok Yai, Sora Choi and Jill Kortleve in the Autumn/Winter 2020 Campaign Film, by Masha Vasyukova.

The goings were photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth, art directed by M/M Paris, alongside the stillness of power lines and the beauty of unkempt nature. Yai scales with the ebb and flow of red satin duchesse in the Exploded Heart Sleeved Jacket, truncated in time to pair with a Thigh-High Peak Boot – an effort as sultry as it is smart. Elsewhere, Choi leans in to bombe waist suiting, replete with Prince of Wales checks analogue to black panels, and cinched with leather belting all very authentically chez McQueen. Ivory silk faille dresses and antique heart lockets find their place on Kortleve and Choi as they simultaneously, near identically, offer up The Tall Story bag in monochrome and color-blocked iterations.

In a tableau vivant of fashion, Mcqueen’s A/W 2020 plays on the English House’s sartorial acumen, luxuriating in womenswear true to form – poet sleeves, Oxbridge Flannels, and asymmetric checks.
