Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation Offering Free Online Courses
The series of creative talks will see industry experts discuss their chosen discipline. The line-up includes Thom Browne, Andrew Bolton, and Tim Walker, to name just a few.
Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation is offering free online courses. If you’re a creative, trapped indoors and you’re feeling a bit restless then you should sign-up to one of these courses ASAP. With experts in art, fashion, photography, costume design, and jewelry, the ‘Sarabande Sessions’ see leading experts share their pearls of wisdom.
Kicking off last Friday, the first talk saw award winning Costume Designer Colleen Atwood, speak to actor Eddie Redmayne. Also on the roster, is a conversation between legendary Fashion Photographer Tim Walker, and rising British Designer Molly Goddard. There will also be talks from Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry, renowned Artist Maggie Hambling, and Andrew Bolton. Bolton is the head curator of the museum’s Costume Institute. His work has been integral to the Met’s success, not to mention the Met Gala. The Sarabande sessions will only run until April 9, but a new talk will be added daily.
Taking to Instagram, the foundation said that the sessions will see a “selection of inspirational and creative talks streamed live into your home for a limited (lockdown) period.” The Sarabande Foundation was created in 2007 by the late Alexander McQueen. The artistic charity was set-up to support graduates and up-and-coming creative talents. The foundation offers mentorships, studio space and practical/business support.
