Amiri Stuns with Dreamy SS23 Show

Mike Amiri showed off his design chops at the SS23 show for his eponymous brand.

The Amiri Spring Summer 2023 show at Paris Men’s Week was a dreamy escape from the occasionally stuffy looks and atmospheres at luxury shows. With a stunning Parisian backdrop and an extra wide runway, Amiri certainly made its mark on fashion week.

The collection, which was created and designed by the brand’s founder, Mike Amiri, highlighted both his growth as a designer and the brand’s growth to sitting firmly in a luxury-adjacent spot. With a blue, green, and tan color scheme that faded and blossomed on the runway with each new look, while also blending into the changing sky over Paris, Amiri created a peaceful, calming setting to showcase his designs.

The show was an experience in opposites: from jacquard denim and flowy trousers, to embroidered bomber jackets and tucked-in suit jackets, to croc print leather shirts and bandana print shorts. Despite all the contrast, the collection remained cohesive thanks to the summery colors.

The California influence that the brand was founded on is evident in the collection, from the laid-back tailoring to the billowing pants and shirts that seem to be made for breezy summer nights by the ocean. The muted, soft colors that mark the collection also scream California casual, as do the infusions of paisley print and frayed denim. It’s a continuation of the ever-loosening of both the tailoring and the attitude of the brand that began last season (the addition of rapper Lil Durk as a model is further proof of this).

Overall, the collection allowed Mike Amiri to flex his design prowess and show off the extraordinary growth of his brand in one of the biggest fashion settings in the world.
