Amref Health Africa And Visual Artists Come Together For World Water Day
As part of this year’s World Water Day on March 22nd, Amref Health Africa are partnering with Black contemporary artists.
Amref Health Africa, the largest Africa-based healthcare nonprofit, is raising awareness and funds for water and sanitation programs for World Water Day on March 21st. As part of the leading organization’s initiative, Amref Health Africa will honor contemporary Black artists Hugo McCloud, Shantell Martin, Patrick Martinez, and Amy Amalia and their work. All have conceptualized and created a singular design in accordance with Amref’s Benefit Water Pitcher project. These illustrations will be on 44oz white porcelain pitchers (created in collaboration with Nadia Nascimento, ARTNOIR’s co-founder) and visually reconstructed into fine art figurines.
The pitchers will be available for purchase the day of on Amref’s Water Is LifeĀ website section for $165 plus shipping with a limited quantity of 150 pieces for each one. Every purchase will significantly assist in clean water and proper sanitation to families in need across the continent with all 600 sold able to supply over 220,000 gallons of clean water to remote communities along migration routes.
