An Invitation to Taller Marmo’s Mediterranean After-Party

The pareo takes center stage in a collection of fluid dresses, swimwear, and evening pieces inspired by life along the Mediterranean coast
For Spring 2027, Taller Marmo follows the night into morning. Its latest collection, Mediterranea, imagines an escape to a small island where obligations fade, friendships form quickly, and romances unfold before sunrise. At a secluded Mediterranean villa, locals and tourists, artists, and socialites gather for an after-party. This imagined encounter inspires a wardrobe that combines the ease of beach dressing with seventies glamour, in colors drawn from the coast at first light.

Sensual kaftans and oversized, bohemian blouson-inspired pieces joined seventies-style halter tops, plunging and high necklines, dramatic slits, and asymmetric hems. Fringe in varying lengths and ostrich-feather boas amplified the movement, while debut knitwear, developed with specialist knitters, reinterpreted Taller Marmo’s signature shapes. Mediterranean references emerged through archival silk chiffon fil coupé from a historic Como mill, featuring marine motifs from the sixties and seventies. Cloqué jacquards shimmered with Lurex, metallic organza carried a wet-look finish, and three-dimensional sequins evoked sea urchins and mother-of-pearl.

The pareo appears throughout the collection in dresses, trousers, and swimwear, connecting beach dressing with eveningwear. Matching swimsuit-and-pareo sets continue a house tradition, while trompe-l’œil effects give swimwear the appearance of miniature dresses and full-length gowns. Hand-knotted fringe recalls a hammock’s open weave, and bandana headscarves and generous shawls inspired by Manila mantons offer ways to cover and reveal the body.
