When paisley prints, rich jewel tones, and pastel-clad Hadid sisters walked the runway of the Anna Sui Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear show, it was destined to be a hit. Transporting the audience to a 70s dreamscape, Anna Sui pushed the boundaries of what is expected of NYFW. Fresh and vibrant, the collection was both authentic to the era that inspired it and surprisingly new.

Gigi and Bella Hadid opened and closed the show, and were instructed by Sui to research vintage runway shows to add a retro flair to their perfected walks. Kaia Gerber wore mustard lace-up boots and contrasting patterns under a brocade coat that channeled 70s cool-girl vibes to the fullest. Sui's latest collection featured faux fur jackets, leather fanny packs, silk pants, and everything in between. Adut Akech also walked the runway in a teal motif, namely a long icy blue faux fur coat in an icy blue.

The standout look of the show, a mint green gown with pink floral beading worn by Bella Hadid, acted as the perfect finale look for this nostalgic collection. Pat McGrath lent her talents to the makeup of the show, taking inspiration from dramatic 60s eyes.“It’s a nod to the ’60s, but with a little edge,” McGrath told Vogue.
