After a successful year filled with Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe and magazine covers, it is no wonder all eyes have been on Anya Taylor-Joy. The Queen’s Gambit actress is known for her role as Beth Harmon on the show, as well as her performance in the horror/drama film The Witch. Taylor-Joy is also widely recognized for her elegant yet extravagant red carpet looks, most of which were designed by Dior. Now, the French fashion house has named her their newest global ambassador for fashion and makeup, adding on to her extensive list of achievements since the start of her career. 

Taylor-Joy has recently worn numerous custom-made Dior looks. All, if not most, have been styled by Law Roach and Paul Burgo. One memorable look was her dramatic yellow gown paired with lavish Tiffany jewels, which was worn to the 2021 Emmys. 

When announcing the news on social media, Dior stated that Taylor-Joy’s role as ambassador “will see her celebrating the House’s heritage and showcasing the work of Creative Director of Women’s collections, @MariaGraziaChiuri, and of Creative and Image Director of Makeup, @PeterPhilipsMakeup.’’ The fashion brand also mentioned that the actress represents “the contemporary Dior woman” and modern elegance—on par with Dior’s ethos. 

The actress’ upcoming projects include Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller, Last Night in SoHo. Additionally, she will be filming Furiosa, a prequel to George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
