AR goes Fashion with Fendi-Meta Collab
Fendi and Meta join forces to produce a high-fashion augmented reality experience.
Fendi and Meta have joined forces to release two augmented reality experiences that can be seen and shared on Facebook and Instagram reels. Designed by the award-winning creative agency BUCK in conjunction with Meta, the experience is inspired by Fendi’s roots in Rome and classical Italian artwork. The experience is called Faster By Fendi, taking users on a high-fashion digital Easter egg hunt for the designer footwear.
The AR experience features Fendi’s new Faster sneaker for which the experience is named. Fendi’s take on effortless luxury footwear for the Fall 2022 season, and allows participants to transform the space around them into an Italian archeological site where they will excavate the Faster sneaker in this virtual scavenger hunt. The experience pairs high-fashion elements and new hand-tracking detection courtesy of Meta.
The high-resolution experience takes users through the gorgeous Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome, the location of the Italian brand’s headquarters. It is the ultimate in digital escapism for those who wish to indulge in a high-fashion European experience without the hassle of a plane trip. Faster by Fendi will be followed by the release of the brand’s cryptocurrency wallet and is a strong transition for the brand into the evolving digital fashion-marketplace. Fendi is staking a claim to the brand’s place in the fashion metaverse, showing everyone that technology and luxury are the new ‘it’ pairing for this season.
