Ariana Grande, Leonardo Di Caprio, Timothée Chalamet, and More Celebrities Will Star in Upcoming Netflix Movie, “Don’t Look Up”

The film will feature about 12 A- list celebrities including Kid Cudi, Rob Morgan, Timothée Chalamet, Kate Blanchett, Jonah Hill and Meryl Strep.

Netflix and Adam McKay are teaming up to produce a sci-fi comedy titled Don’t Look Up. Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo Di Caprio will play the leading roles. Kevin Messick will also help write, direct, and produce the film under McKay’s Hyperobject Industries Banner.

The film follows two low-level astronomers as they embark on a media tour to warn mankind of a rapidly approaching asteroid that threatens to destroy Earth.  The duo will be met with disbelievers and unreceptive people along the way.

The original film was set to be released sometime in 2021, but production was put off due to the COVID – 19 pandemic. Cast members have just been confirmed and plans for production will resume by November 19 in Boston.

According to sources, DiCaprio initially hesitated to commit to the leading role in “Don’t Look Up” due to his role in the Martin Scorsese film Killers of the Flower Moon, however his schedule has allowed him to work on both films. The two films would be DiCaprio’s first role in a project produced for streaming. Killers of the Flower Moon will be produced under creative studio Apple and released theatrically by Paramount Pictures.

Other notable celebrities who will make an appearance include Kid Cudi and Ariana Grande, who come as a surprise. Cudi was recently featured on Travis Scott’s first major release since April. This film will be his debut into the movie scene. The singer posted an Instagram picture with a caption that reads: “Excited isn’t even the word. To be a part of this epic cast is unreal. And my first movie w my brother Timmy.”

There’s yet to be a trailer out, but that’s due to the delay in the actual filming for the movie. Details regarding the expected date of release are also up in the air at the moment.
