Every summer, Torino transforms into a magnetic hub for some of the most boundary-pushing artists in electronic music. This year’s Kappa FuturFestival lineup is no exception. From high-intensity sets to bold fashion moments, the 2025 gathering is shaping up to be full of energy and surprises.

To get a taste of what’s coming, we checked in with two artists we’re especially excited to see: ØTTA, known for her raw, genre-defying sound, and Fatima Koanda, a rising force whose sets balance groove and grit. We asked them a few quick questions about music, style, and festival chaos.

Here’s what they had to say.

ØTTA

Have you played or been to Futur before? Best memory if so?

I played FUTUR for the first time last year in a b2b set with Funk Tribu. It was the first time we played together, so having both first-times on the same day was a great memory. Plus, the festival’s aesthetic is great — the stages are super incredible, and being part of such an iconic event was definitely a memorable experience.

What keeps you grounded during festival season?

Going to the gym and spending time at the beach during the week. Honestly, living in Barcelona makes it easy to stay balanced — I can wake up in the morning, walk to the gym, then head to the beach for a couple of hours, and still have time to go home and enjoy some studio time. I believe it’s all about maintaining balance; rest is just as important as partying, and that helps me stay grounded.

Message for the die-hards in the front row?

Love u girlies!

The most recent track you released?

“Mão Na Parede” out on ONES and ZEROS, Boys Noize’s new label.

What city has your attention right now with great producers?

I wouldn’t say a specific city — I think Australia as a country has some really great producers!

What’s your relationship to fashion when you perform – does what you wear affect how you play?

I believe fashion plays a significant role not just during my performances, but in my daily life as well. I enjoy taking care of myself and dressing up, even for simple things like grocery shopping. Wearing something I love and feel confident in boosts my self-esteem. When it comes to performing, my outfits definitely reflect my mood — I love incorporating bright colours like pink and green. I believe I have a personal aesthetic that I feel truly expresses my personality – you wear who/what u are

Do you have a stylist? Who are they? If not, is there one on your radar or another artist’s style that you admire?

For shows, I mainly style myself. For any type of press other occasions, I work with Ally Lux — she is the best!

Have you played or been to Futur before? Best memory if so?

I went to Kappa Futur Festival for the first time last year as a guest.

I absolutely loved the location it’s incredible and the lineup too.

My favorite moment was during Four Tet’s set, it was amazing.

The fact that just one year after attending as a spectator in 2024, I’ll be playing the main stage in 2025 makes me incredibly emotional.

What’s the vibe or inspiration for your sets this summer?

My set will be warm and rhythmic, a mix of electronic music, house, and African sounds.

I want to create a joyful and fun vibe, the perfect way to kick off the festival.

What keeps you grounded during festival season?

My love for this job – it’s absolutely vital to me.

It drives me to work hard to reach my artistic goals, one of which is playing at as many festivals as possible. Kicking it off with Kappa Futur Festival 2025 will definitely be a beautiful experience.

Message for the die-hards in the front row?

Make yourselves heard!

I want to feel all your energy and I’ll be giving mine back to you through the music.

The most recent track you released?

I haven’t released any music yet, but something is coming very soon.

Favorite new track of a friend?

It’s not someone I know personally, but I really hope to meet her soon: Chloé Caillet – The One (ft. Jocelyn Brown).

What’s your relationship to fashion when you perform does what you wear affect how you play?

One thing I love about my project is that the focus is first and foremost on the music, which is essential. But I also like to connect it with my visual identity, creating a strong synergy.

In my upcoming projects, alongside my live DJ sets, this connection will become even more important.

Do you have a stylist? Who are they? If not, is there one on your radar or another artist’s style that you admire?

I’ve worked with several stylists, but the one I vibed with the most is Gabriele Papi, you can find some photos on my Instagram.

There are so many talented stylists around the world. Our goal is to build creative teams that align with the vision and mission of the project.

We’re not necessarily looking for famous names, just creatives with good energy, great taste, and solid know-how, who truly believe in what we’re doing.

Curious about your essentials:

  • Sneakers: I never wear sneakers when I play, I always go for heels, ankle boots, etc.I like being a bit taller and more noticeable. Plus, catching the rhythm of the music in heels feels great.
  • Headphones: Always have my headphones with me for DJ sets and everyday life. I listen to music constantly at the supermarket, on the subway, while biking, from morning till night.
  • Beverage for energy: I love still water, it’s genuinely delicious. I also drink fruit and vegetable juices that give me an energy boost and make me feel on top every day.

We’re also looking forward to catching sets from Helena Hauff, Eris Drew, Surgeon, Tatyana Jane, Kerri Chandler and PAWSA. From sunrise dance floors to late-night warehouse heat, FUTUR offers something for every kind of raver, selector and scene-watcher.

Whether you’re in it for the music, the fashion, the chaos or all of the above, this is one of those weekends that leaves a mark.

There’s still time to book your flight and make your way to Torino for a weekend of pure velocity. Come for the lineup, stay for the moments. See you there.
