Since its founding in 1966 by Venetian artisans, Bottega Veneta has upheld a no-logo philosophy, allowing its leatherwork and quality to speak for themselves. That ethos found its ultimate expression in Intrecciato, the signature weave introduced in 1975 and inspired by centuries-old leatherworking traditions from Italy’s Veneto region. Defined by the meticulous hand-braiding of slender leather strips (fettucce) into a distinctive diagonal pattern, this craftsmanship quickly became the hallmark of the house.

Now, with this campaign, Louise Trotter officially begins her chapter as Creative Director of the Italian brand, following her appointment earlier this year.

Shot by photographer Jack Davison and choreographed by Lenio Kaklea, the visuals present Intrecciato as a tribute to relationships, creativity, and the silent stories told through the language of hands—the truest windows to our craft and connection.

Contributing to this homage is a diverse group of stars: singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff; actresses Lauren Hutton, Julianne Moore, Vicky Krieps, Shu Qi, and Rie Miyazawa; filmmaker Dave Free; writer Zadie Smith; conductor Lorenzo Viotti; designer Edward Buchanan; filmmaker Dario Argento; artists Barbara Chase-Riboud and Tyler Okonma (Tyler, the Creator); tennis sensation Lorenzo Musetti; iconic musician Neneh Cherry; actors Troy Kotsur and Terrance Lau; K-pop star I.N; and actress-singer Thanaerng.

The campaign also nods to some of the brand’s most iconic moments, such as Edward Buchanan’s leadership of the first ready-to-wear collection in the 1990s, and Lauren Hutton’s unforgettable American Gigolo (1980) appearance with her Intrecciato clutch—an image that helped cement the weave in fashion history.

Looking ahead, the brand will extend these celebrations with a special book releasing in September, featuring an additional cast of creatives and highlighting 50 new hand gestures.
