Long before she was the cover star of MACzine, Ashtin Earle wore Ruby Woo lipstick for Christmas dance performances. In conversation, she revisits that childhood memory in a new interview with the MAC, published just weeks after the premiere of “Earle Meets World.” The Netflix show starring her family.

Since her childhood dance performances, Earle’s makeup routine has shifted toward darker, cool tones. She often pairs MAC’s Stone or Plum lip pencil with Lipglass, rarely wears pink on her lips, and sometimes skips mascara altogether have influenced her routine, too: one encouraged her to thin her brows, while her younger sister Izabelle is the person she trusts most to do her makeup.

The conversation moves beyond makeup when Ashtin explains the joke behind her social media bio, “tall, dark, & handsome.” She wrote it in high school and left it there, though its boldness does not quite match how she feels in person. Despite sharing so much of her life online, she says she is shy and takes time to warm up to people.

With “Earle Meets World” bringing her family to a wider audience, the MACzine cover puts Ashtin in focus. She speaks for herself about the makeup she loves, the advice she takes from her sisters, and the shyness that may surprise people who know her only from social media.
