YSL Beauty announced its new global ambassador—the one-and-only Austin Butler.

The acclaimed actor, who won a Golden Globe for his lead role in Elvis, is now the head of YSL Beauty’s newest fragrance, ‘MYSLF.’ Butler embodies many of the same qualities that ‘MYSLF’ exhibits—sensitive, authentic, confident, approachable, complex—all culminating as YSL Beauty’s statement of modern masculinity.

“I was honored to be asked to join the YSL Beauty family,” shares Austin Butler in a statement. “Over the last few years, I’ve spoken with people who knew M. Saint Laurent. He broke through labels. He was a rebel, and I love that about him. I feel privileged to be a part of the heritage he set in motion.”

As YSL Beauty’s first woody floral scent, ‘MYSLF’ is a true statement piece for the brand. A citrus-full accord tops off the fragrance, with an orange blossom middle note and sensual woody bottom notes that come through as the day wears on.

The campaign includes still shots by New York-based photographer Gray Sorrenti, as well as a soon-to-be-released film, shot by Palme d’Or-winning director Julia Ducournau. The film depicts Butler manifesting all the selves that make him himself through striking and bold visuals.

“In seeking out a figure to embody YSL Beauty’s vision of the new masculinity, there could have been no better choice for us than Austin Butler,” said International General Manager of YSL Beauty Stephan Bezy. “Both as an artist and as a human being, he embodies the values expressed by our brand through ‘MYSLF,’ a modern representation of what it means to be a man.”

The campaign film will be released on August 22, while ‘MYSLF’ is available now and can be found at yslbeautyus.com.
