“Avatar: The Way Of Water” Releases Official Trailer
After over a decade of waiting, a look into the world of the Avatar sequel is finally here, its premiere set for the end of this year
It’s been 13 years since Avatar made its debut as a global phenomenon that dominated box offices worldwide and theaters for nearly a year. Now, 20th Century Studios has finally released a long-awaited sneak peak into the sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time — James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.
Set to premiere on December 16, the movie follows multiple delays, having been pushed back seven times since its original release year of 2014. Many original favorites return, with Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, and Sigourney Weaver undertaking a new character. Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Oona Chaplin, and more are added to the A-list cast.
With a nearly wordless trailer set in the ethereal world of Pandora, the sequel follows Sully and Neytiri as they build and protect their family from new threats against the Na’vi. The film wrapped shooting in 2020 alongside Avatar 3, which is currently slated to premiere in 2024. Produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, with executive producers Peter M. Tobyansen and David Valdes, you can catch Avatar: The Way of Water on December 16, only in theaters.
