A|X Armani Exchange Is Celebrating Earth Day With “Cool Sustainability”
Eco-friendly garments with lower environmental impact.
With sustainability in mind, the Armani Group has been working to ensure that its ongoing development is achieved in an eco-friendly level while respecting its core values and protecting the brand and quality of its products, as well as maintaining customer satisfaction. To honor Earth Day, A|X Armani Exchange is launching “Cool Sustainability” — a collection of “green” garments made of raw materials with a lower environmental impact.
Using recycled denim and fabrics processed with organic and biodegradable substances, Armani is pushing towards using natural resources responsibly, safeguarding the environment and respecting the community. T-shirts and sweatshirts come in a variety of colors and read “DON’T F___ WITH THE EARTH” and “YOU ARE THE PRESENT TO MY FUTURE” — a strong, environmentally-charged message to the outside world at large. Water, energy and other natural environment resources are protected not only through product innovation and controls applied to the supply chain, but also through attention to the environmental impact of the workplace, showing the commitment to a holistic, full-on approach to sustainability.
While streamlining the logistics and transport processes, Armani is also using innovative materials with a lower environmental impact for packaging. Folding boxes significantly reduce shipping volumes and the packaging itself, free from plastic coating and is made using an ever-decreasing percentage of virgin raw materials, is totally recyclable. Other important initiatives include the progressive reduction of chemicals considered to be potentially hazardous, with the aim of complete elimination thereof by 2020. The Armani Group is also one of the signatories of the Fashion Pact — an agreement recently presented at the G7 through which the major companies in the fashion sector have committed to addressing the issues of climate change and environmental protection.
