Azzaro by Olivier Theyskens New Couture Collection Is a Sparkling Dream

The house unveiled the new designs through an oneiric film.

Azzaro’s new haute couture collection seems just out of a dream. The house revealed Olivier Theyskens’ new designs via a short film directed by Txema Yeste and fashion directed by V’s own Gro Curtis. The lines between reality and fantasy are blurred: a man and a woman are pictured walking in the woods, dancing under flashing lights and twirling in front of funhouse mirrors to a dramatic electronic tune.

Shine seems to be the keyword for this collection, which draws inspiration from Azzaro’s signature early creations, with shimmering crystal details distributed over fluid dresses. Sequins are embroidered on the oversized jumpsuit and also featured on the tailored men’s jacket as if they were raindrops spilling from the shoulders.

A metallic glow is seen on the long-sleeve dress and suits, while some designs resemble silver scales that add another layer of texture to the look. The label’s characteristic three-ring detail is redesigned with glimmering materials and featured on the back of long dresses with slightly puffed sleeves.

Shimmering details are also present on the cocoon dress made of tulle ruffles, with an embroidered collar and crystals spread throughout the design resembling a starry night sky.
