Backstage at Balmain Fall/Winter 2020
The French fashion house is on a roll.
Olivier Rousteing has done it again. In his Balmain Fall/Winter 2020 collection of color pops and exquisite details, the 33-year-old visionary’s creative direction seems more clear than ever. Featuring down jackets and overcoats across the color spectrum and sweater-pant combinations in commanding neutral tones, Balmain excites a message of owning individuality and claiming unique identities.
Accessories claimed prominence among the collection, as sunglasses with both sleek and boxy frames completed certain ensembles and logo-embossed, monochrome bags found their way into several looks. Of course, the label’s signature, extravagant jackets with gold detailing and glimmering buttons stole the show in a number of new iterations. At the end of the presentation, Rousteing lead his cast of models around in a final walk, during which his artistic manifestations were praised as an embodiment of his incredible journey of self-discovery.
