Balenciaga x Crocs Is Happening Again and The Internet Has Some Thoughts
The house presented two takes on the iconic foam shoe in their Spring 2022 collection.

Love it or hate it, Crocs have been experiencing a huge moment over the past year. The comfortable – and divisive – foam clogs made it to the Oscars and to some of the biggest stars’ closets, with sold-out collabs with the likes of Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and even KFC. Now, they’re back to the high-fashion world with a new collaboration with Balenciaga.

The Spanish house unveiled the partnership at their Spring 2022 “Clones” show on Sunday, where they presented two Croc styles in black, gray, and green options. One of them is a pair of chunky rain-like platform boots, while the others are stilletto versions of the classic foam model, complete with straps and a Balenciaga logo detail.
This isn’t the first time the two brands work together. For Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Demna Gvasalia presented platform Crocs in bright yellow and pink versions decorated with custom Jibbitz (Crocs’ collectible “charms”) with motifs like flags and “BB” monograms.
“It’s a very innovative shoe,” Gvasalia told Vogue UK in 2017. “It’s light, it’s a one-piece foam mold and to me these kind of techniques and working with these kind of materials is very Balenciaga.”
Actually, this isn’t the first time Crocs puts out a high-heeled version either – the infamous “Cyprus V Heel” debuted in 2018 and sold out on the brand’s website. But naturally, people had a lot to say about the new Balenciaga shoes online:
