Amidst the gardens of Milan’s Chiostro di San Simpliciano, Bally unveiled its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, drawing inspiration from Swiss culture. Brought to life by designer Simone Bellotti, the collection is a blend of classical heritage and contemporary allure, feeding into Bally’s longstanding reputation for modern luxury craftsmanship skills.

Bally’s collection strikes an equilibrium between precision and eloquence, reflecting the brand’s dedication to preserving its identity while also embracing modern style.

Simone Bellotti takes us on a journey back in time to Monte Verità in Switzerland in the early 20th century. Monte Verità, previously serving as a refuge for artistic visionaries, was a space dedicated to rejecting urban life and replacing it with communion within the natural world. Overhead, curated sounds of Italian DJ Leo Mas plays as a remembrance of Ibiza’s Summer of Love in 1987.

Bally’s collection dives into the intricacy of human nature, juxtaposing asymmetrical skirts and leather pieces with bright, draped dresses and sma;; sweater vests. Traditional fashion elements are entirely transformed, giving pieces like a black skirt an asymmetrical waistband to add a flare of grunge with an ounce of sophistication.

Drawing from its rich heritage of crafting fine footwear, Bally reintroduces and enhances classic shoe designs within this collection. Styles such as the flat buckled Glendale (circa 1923), the Scribe oxford lace-up (circa 1951) boasting a burnished toe, and the Ballerina flat (circa 1940) adorned with studded details undergo contemporary reinterpretations. These designs seamlessly combine timeless elegance with a modern, fashionable sensibility.

Accessories featured in the collection pay homage to cherished Swiss customs, featuring polished ‘appenzeller’ talisman belts and tooled bells of leather. The luggage and handbag selection exemplifies the contrast of elements throughout the collection, offering a coexistence of structured briefcases adorned with gold chain hardware and canvas messenger bags embellished with the BALLY ribbon and BALLY crest.
