With the release of “I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend” featuring Doechii, the lead single off BANKS’ fifth studio album, Off With Her Head, the cleverly moody singer-songwriter lands the guillotine’s brilliant blade in one fell swoop. V are still reeling from those final words: I’ma send some flowers to her ego / Then at least she walks away with something. Ouch.   

BANKS M.O follows tenets of alternative pop with licks of contemporary R&B, and a sporty savagery pervades her lyrics, her latest album rife with cheeky calls of atonement. The California-bred artist recently kicked off her headlining “Off With Her Head” tour with a series of shows on the West Coast, and brought V along in her back pocket.
