Michael Kors is expanding on its 2021 brand theme, “the eye has to travel,” with a new Fall 2021 campaign starring Bella Hadid, Cindy Bruna, and Geron McKinley. The phrase was borrowed from the iconic fashion columnist and editor Diana Vreeland and, this season, it’s channeled through the idea of adventure, discovery, and reconnecting with friends.

The campaign was shot in Brooklyn and Queens by photographer Sean Thomas and video director Shane Sigler and sees Hadid meeting up and embarking on city adventures with friends across the boroughs – such as walking the Brooklyn Bridge, biking the boardwalk, and taking a moped ride in Long Island City.

“As life starts getting back to normal, I think everyone is looking forward to venturing out and exploring,” Michael Kors said in a press statement. “For fall we’re taking our fans on a journey just outside of Manhattan and reminding them of all the things we’ve missed over the past year and a half. You can feel the energy and excitement of a fresh start in the air.”

The protagonists are seen in a range of dresses and casual pieces, with a palette mainly made up of camel, ivory, and moss green. Outerwear is the highlight of the campaign, which features a classic puffer and a tailored wool-blend camel coat, along with oversized outerwear for men.

Key handbag styles for Fall 2021 include the new Karlie and Lina bags with hardware details like the label’s logo and bold chains, and the Hamilton Legacy satchel featuring Michael Kors’ signature print and croc-embossed leather.

Last month, the label introduced the orange-and-brown “#MKGO” luxe activewear campaign with Hadid, which highlighted knit dresses, puffer jackets, tops, and joggers, and accessories including watches and sunglasses.

The global Fall 2021 campaign debuted in August and will run in fall issues worldwide. The images will also be featured on digital outlets, Michael Kors’ social media channels and outdoor spots.
