Best Looks Of The 2020 BBMAs
Monochrome and heavy jewelry ruled the night.
The Billboard Music Awards took place last night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. As we transition slowly away from pandemic mode, stars are returning to their natural habitat: the red carpet. Monochrome attire and oodles of jewelry dominated much of the evening, with streetwear sensibilities still holding firmly on to their position in the menswear world. Take a gander at some of the best looks from the award show below.
Lil Nas X
There’s never a dull moment when Lil Nas X hits the red carpet. For the BBMAs, he turned up in this Gucci snake skin suit with pink detailing and an enviable bang moment. He topped off the bold look with some subtle jewelry, black boots, and retro shades.
Ty Dolla $ign
Last night, Ty Dolla $ign donned a streetwear ensemble. Nike sneakers and chunky shades topped off an oversized, neutral-toned look.
Khalid
Khalid showed up in a shimmering Versace shirt to pick up his five Billboard Music Awards. The look is both simple and bold.
Bad Bunny
For the red (actually it’s black) carpet, Bad Bunny donned all white attire. Wide-legged pants and a Y-3 hoodie are tied together with a pair of worn in sneakers.
Bad Bunny Again
For his performance attire, Bad Bunny switched into an all black look, complete with beaded detailing on the lapels and cuffs.
Post Malone
Ever the party boy, Post Malone finished off this cowboy-biker and skirt look with a red solo cup. A fistful of rings and some earrings add a little extra pizazz.
Jay Ellis
On stage, Jay Ellis rocked head-to-toe purple by Dzojchen and Louboutin boots. Differing finishes on the fabric created a subtle striped pattern. He finished off the look with an elegant David Yurman bracelet and ring.
Saint Jhn
Pink on pink on pink by Berluti. Saint Jhn suited up in the bright color for his carpet walk, adding an exposed waistband reading “Christian Sex Club.” On top of that, he stacked layers of bold jewelry. Sometimes more is more.
Saint Jhn Again
To perform, Saint Jhn switched into this jumpsuit. It kind of looks backwards, but it’s also kind of working. Every now and then you just have to take a risk.
Swae Lee
During his performance, Swae Lee layered fringe on top of pattern on top of leather straps on top of shiny shoes by Guiseppe Zanotti. He also threw on some bold jewelry to boot.
Pentatonix
The men of Pentatonix showed off a number of different ways to rock a suit, from monochromatic styling to oversized chic. The olive colored ensemble is Ferragamo. The oversized look is YSL and Juun J.
BTS
Oh BTS, would any men’s style roundup truly be complete without them? K-Pop stars have been putting the rest of us to shame for a while now and the onslaught continues in BTS’ new era which features a whole lot of sharp tailoring. For their performance, the boys rocked a series of styles, all in a wonderful plum shade.
