Best Of Menswear: 2022 People’s Choice Awards

The cream of the crop for men’s looks.

Roll out the red carpet, and pop up the paparazzo; it’s awards season, baby! December 6th was the People’s Choice Awards, hosted by everyone’s favorite funnyman Kenan Thompson. The PCAs can be quite a hodge-podge awards ceremony, spanning the vast expanses of the entertainment industry. TikTok influencers rubbed elbows with pop legends, and the high-brow and reality TV worlds blurred together. Because of this breadth of celebrity, the fashion of the PCAs can also be a fascinating sight. The men, no matter their industry, brought their A-game.

Enter the Upside Down with the Stranger Things actor, who sports a stylish Fendi double-breasted suit and bag. Captured right before he won Best Male TV Star, the evening proved Schnapp to be both a star of the screen and the carpet

A pop of color! In his green-tinted Greyscale suit, the Queer Eye coach and newbie talk show host pulled eyes. More than anything, though, Karamo brings a sense of unaccompanied joy to his looks.

Joel Kim Booster

Bringing a little bit of Elvis to the carpet, comedian Joel Kim Booster sported a stark white suit with a flared collar. With his shirt’s intricate lace trimming, Booster effortlessly tied new-age stylings with ‘80s flair.

If you don’t know Jay Shetty’s face, you certainly know his voice. The Think Like a Monk writer and podcast host attended the PCAs in a coral-toned striped suit. The colors dazzle, while his smile sings.

For those asking, “who is Raysean Hairston,” you’re not alone. A songwriter and music producer, Hairston attended the PCAs on the arm of Muni Lee, his wife. Still, Hairston stood out in his own right with one of the best menswear looks of the night. For a high-end use of sunglasses, check out Hairston.

Logomania sweeps the carpet. Well, not the crazed, logo-driven designer looks that flash across reality television screens. For basketball legend Dwayne Wade, it was more subtle: a printed purple coat, stamped with that classic Louis Vuitton LV.

The PCAs also served as a haven for influencers, bringing out just about every name from TikTok and Instagram. The perennial coffee transporter and Meghan Trainor supporter Chris Olsen stunned in an all-white ensemble, intricately piped with lace detailing.

Aidan Alexander

Actor/singer and heartthrob Aidan Alexander puts simple, suave elegance first in a printed JACQUEMUS button-down top that effortlessly blended into a cinched pair of trousers. Alexander provides an example of how taste need not be filled with over-the-top luxury. It can be simple and clean, but well executed.

The Get Out actor provides a prime example of how thoughtful accessorizing can elevate a look. Howry’s primary outfit, being an all-black set, is fairly subdued. But, with a statement necklace shining above the rest, the look becomes all the more salient.
