Billie Eilish just released her new song, “Lost Cause” plus a self-directed video to go with it.It’s the latest from her upcoming album, The Happier Than Ever, that is expected to be released on July 30.

In the video, Eilish and a group of girlfriends hang around her house twerking, shooting water guns, throwing darts, snacking on potato chips, and dress in her ex’s clothes. Produced by her brother Finneas, it’s a clapback song towards her ex-boyfriend and we get to see Eilish like we’ve never seen her before.

“Thought you had your shit together, but damn, I was wrong. You ain’t nothin’ but a lost cause and this ain’t nothin’ like it once was,” says Eilish confidently in the song. This is the fourth single off the sophomore album. Fans predicted the song’s title after Eilish posted a selfie on her Instagram account with the caption “nothing but a lost cause”.

“Lost Cause” follows the announcement of Eilish’s arena tour, “Happier Than Ever, The World Tour,” which has sold out on all dates of the first leg in North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Eilish first teased her fans with new music last year with singles “My Future” and “Therefore I Am,” which will both appear on the upcoming long-awaited album. In April, Eilish released “Your Power,” a sultry ballad that revisits details of an abusive relationship. “Your Power” debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered over 150 million streams in its first two weeks.

As if Eilish didn’t already do enough in 2020, she lent her signature moodiness to the James Bond song “No Time To Die,” and welcoming in 2021, she debuted the documentary film “The World’s A Little Blurry” in February.
