Trying a new liquid lipstick formula is always a coin toss. It seems like every single one is so different from the next, you rarely know what you’re going to get. But given the waves that Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipstick has made in the cosmetics community as one of the best formulas, it’s unsurprising a liquid lipstick version was soon to follow. Not only does the new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick hold up in comparison to the formula of the original, it may just even surpass it.
The Liquified Lipstick doesn’t feel like a liquid lipstick normally does–its formula is hydrating and distinctly not matte or metallic. Once applied, it looks like any standard cream lipstick you would find in tube form. However, it behaves like a liquid lipstick in that it’s not as easily transferred as a tube lipstick (although you still will want to reapply after a couple glasses of wine). The elongated doe-foot applicator removes the need for a liner and is incredibly easy to work with, and with all of the formulas you get complete coverage with a single swipe.
The shade range is beautiful, and it’s hard to find one that won’t sit well on any skin tone–everything, including the palest of the nudes (Whip) and the brightest of the reds (Flambé) seems to be just close enough to neutral that the Liquified Lipsticks are both color- and undertone-inclusive. The formula is consistent across the colors, and each one is made with monoi butter and coconut oil to keep it hydrating. Just as they did when the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks first came out, Bite Beauty have redefined what a liquid lipstick can and should be, and created a new standard to beat in the process.
