BLACKPINK is Hosting an In-Game Concert

Girl group BLACKPINK will preform in a digital concert at the end of the month.

Kicking off what is sure be a busy few months for the band, K-Pop group BLACKPINK is teaming up with Mobile gaming company PUBG Mobile and Tencent Games to host a digital concert, called “THE VIRTUAL.”

The digital event, featuring BLACKPINKS’s full concert within the game, will be accessible to users on July 22-23 and 29-30 in North and South America, and July 23-24 and 30-31 elsewhere. The concert will also feature a brand new song and music video, created specifically for the digital show.

Players on PUBG will be able to secure tickets to the show in-game starting on July 15th, and they will also be given a special assets pack to download in advance in order to view the concert.

Digital concerts are on the rise, with PUBG’s rival gaming brand Fortnite having hosted several, including ones with Travis Scott and Ariana Grande. The BLACKPINK show will be their attempt at evening the playing field.

The digital concert will come just before BLACKPINK’s long-awaited return to music. The band has announced a new song for sometime in August and said that an album is nearly done. All four members, Rose, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo, will embark on “the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group ” at the end of the year.
