BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ Now Has a YouTube Channel

The channel serves an introduction to the singer’s run as a solo artist

ROSÉ, a member of the K-Pop quartet phenomenon known as BLACKPINK, started branching out from the group by releasing her own material last week on March 12. The singer debuted R, a single album that featured two songs: “Gone” and her first single as a solo artist, “On the Ground.” Now, her solo journey continues with the debut of her own YouTube channel.

ROSÉ’s solo music video and single drops had been released so far on BLACKPINK’s own YouTube channel, which has almost 60 million subscribers and a devoted Blink fanbase. However, with her own channel now out, ROSÉ becomes the third member of the group to have their individual YouTube identity, following Lisa’s choreography-driven offerings and Jennie (leaving only Jisoo).

So far, ROSÉ’s channel only features the one video, a five minute interview film interspersed with clips from home videos. Footage from her childhood and life with her family keep going back and forth with clips of her with BLACKPINK, on tour, and working on solo material. In the short video, she talks about growing up in New Zealand and Australia, the origin of her name, and the meaning of her new single.

ROSÉ has been on a big upswing so far. Her channel has over 1.5 million subscribers in just over a day and her video debut has over 3 million views. She also recently performed her debut single “On the Ground” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” her first international solo performance.
