Two of the most heralded women in rock—Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and Joan Jett—have teamed up to take aim at the turbulent political climate of today (you know exactly who it's targeted at). Blondie just released a new video for their collaboration with the legendary rockstar,"Doom or Destiny," which puts an irrrevent, vivid, and often beautifully comical spin on the socially-charged track.

In what's been described as "the most openly political video Blondie has ever done" by Debbie herself, the dynamic duo invades a broadcast news station to deliver an alarming but very real version of the news (no doubt inspired by the pseudo phenomenon of "fake news" brought on by you-know-who).“We wanted to comment on the bizarre state of media and news in the current political ‘idiocracy’ we are watching play out in real time and create our own news channel that dealt with current issues such as the environmental collapse, fossil fuels, bee population decline, global warming, sexism, patriarchy, Trump and Russia, feminism, consumerism, the marketing of war and more,” Debbie said in a statement.

The video, directed by Rob Roth, features an array of women donning empowering feminist slogans, stilettos stomping over issues like the patriarchy, and an accurate sock puppet of the President, before the newscast descends into fabulous chaos—managing to save our world in the process.  And who better to do so that two icons who have lived, learned, and still have statements to make? Watch the beautiful madness below.
