Blood Orange Announces New Mixtape, Angel’s Pulse
Angel’s Pulse, Blood Orange’s mixtape slated for release this Friday, is already being described as an “epilogue” to Negro Swan.
Blood Orange has announced this morning that he will be releasing a new mixtape, Angel’s Pulse, which is set to release this Friday, July 12. The artist took to Instagram, displaying the album artwork for the upcoming mixtape. The singer-songwritier, also known Dev Hynes, said in a statement:
“My new record is called Angel’s Pulse & I performed, produced, and mixed the entire thing myself. I’m calling it a mixtape. I have a habit through the years of making records that I just give to friends, or on tape to people on the street, or no one. Usually this material is made directly after the album I’ve just put out. Somewhat of an epilogue to the thing I’ve made before. This time… I decided to release it.”
Nearly a year ago, Blood Orange released his fourth studio album, Negro Swan, which made No. 98 on US Billboard 200. The artist has lots to look forward to within the next week: in addition to the release of his mixtape, Blood Orange is also set to perform with Tyler, the Creator on his upcoming tour this Friday.
