Blumarine Blooms In Spring

Blumarine debuts their “Bloom” Spring collection by new creative director Nicola Brognano.

Sparkling logo belts and tiered mini skirts, for their “Bloom” Ready-To-Wear Spring 2021 collection Blumarine channeled the unabashed girliness of Y2K style, and made it modern. The show was designer Nicola Brognano’s debut runway collection with the brand, a harrowing task. Still, he created clothes sure to appeal to young fashonistas’ eternal nostalgia.

Brognano embraced maximalism for the coming spring, mixing patterns, oversized flowers, ruffles and crystals with abandon. The collection mainly stuck to pastel tones, draping them over uber-short skirts and slip dresses. Also seen were fur-trimmed coats and knits, zebra print pants and elaborate headwear.

At the start of his new era, Brognano chose to look back, and build something chic using what came before him. Now, Blumarine can certainly look forward to seeing their designs on the streets of every major fashion hub.
