We can always expect Creative Director Nicola Brognano to find unique ways to continually seduce us, with each collection harboring a distinguishable theme. For Spring/Summer 2024, saints turned sensual sinners are at the forefront, highlighting a radiant sense of the summer season. It creates the latest Blumarine girl- taking the shape of a whimsy butterfly, attracted to the celestial halos in a cloud of gold.

The collection is enchantingly captivating, with classic silhouettes elucidated by the brand’s codes including dramatically draped tunics that are wrapped around the body, and adorned with frolickings of bows and sashes. Airy blouses are in light georgette and unobstructed into cascading raw-hemmed ribbons.

Angels walk the runway in oversized wings, dripped in gold glamour and milky whites. Heaven descended onto the stage in a fashionable fantasy where sensuality is expressed freely and beautifully in the form of elusive fabrics. Sparkling mesh, tulle, sequins, and pieces splashed with diamontés are delivered. Summer-approved Capri pants are in soft leather and cinched by metallic chains with complimentary butterfly buckles.

Catsuits are purified with jersey, and hosiery is accented with cut-outs of churning butterflies. Sultry bustiers, divine corsets, and ultra-short dresses are presented. Color offerings tell a story of metamorphosis- from a fallen angel trickled with gold and white, to a darker-provocative creature wearing shades of nude and black until finally- they are uncovered. Clear PVC is studded with crystals or rhinestones in matte resin to create a diaphanous garment.

The butterfly is symbolic of course, acting as a motif that soars across the collection and lands on minidresses, briefs, bustiers, and accessories such as rubber mini bags that are designed in collaboration with FORBITHCHES x Blumarine.

Blumarine’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection slightly hinders its signature Y2K aesthetic, stimulating a refreshed astral aura for the angel-core babe in all of us.
