Bottega Veneta Summer 2027 Is Made to Move

Through weightless leather, softened tailoring and intricate weaves, Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2027 collection explores the space between structure and surrender.

To know and appreciate Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2027 collection is to understand the way time is endlessly weaving in and out of our lives: how the quiet succession from spring to summer becomes a gradual shedding of layers, both literally and mentally.

The collection was presented to a star-studded audience, among them Jacob Elordi, Julianne Moore, Audrey Hobert and Tyler, The Creator. Each guest was welcomed by the ingenuity of Illya Goldman Gubin, seated upon a resin-coated Karton Hocker, cardboard stools, each individually formed, and perhaps deformed, by Goldman Gubin’s embrace. In other words: he had given each of his creations a hug.

This celebration of individuality extended beyond the clothes themselves, permeating the atmosphere around the runway. Creativity, individuality and innovation were not simply principles of the collection, but part of its very setting.

On the runway, there was an unravelling. Air slipped between skin and clothing; tailoring loosened; even leather seemed to become light. Masculinity and femininity no longer occupied two separate spheres, but came together in a tangible blurring of the lines.

Though the palette remained largely neutral and pastel, it was the collection’s treatment of form—the space for clothes to billow, cling, expand and retreat—that signaled a greater freedom: an invitation to move between positions, identities and ways of being.

At the centre of it all, reminiscent of Bottega Veneta’s very heart, was the weave. It appeared in straw hats, straw bags and, of course, throughout the clothing. A navy jacket, light and airy in its construction, its belt left unlooped and cinched instead by a woven bag. Sleek, measured, classic, and immediately understood.

Bottega Veneta has never been a stranger to setting itself apart. Here, the freedom to move and the freedom to choose sit at the centre of the collection. It is a woven unravelling, not only from spring into summer, but from the physical and mental layers we carry with us. An allowance, perhaps, to de-robe—to shed, to loosen, and to move freely into whatever comes next.
