Britney Spears posted a picture on her Instagram that read, “Take me as I am or KISS MY ASS / EAT SHIT AND / STEP ON LEGOS,” and it was just the beginning of her clap back to the anyone who’s judged her while going through her recent hardships.

Just four days after her most recent court hearing where a judge allowed the superstar to assign a lawyer of her choosing, Spears took to Instagram for a very honest post that addressed many things in her life that she’s being critiqued for.

First, Spears addressed people who criticized videos she’s posted on Instagram of her dancing in her living room. She wrote in her Instagram post, “look I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think … I’ve done that for the past 13 years … I’d much rather share videos YES from my living room instead of onstage in Vegas where some people were so far gone they couldn’t even shake my hand.”

Whilst clapping back, she added that she would get a contact high at almost every concert when she simply wanted to go to a spa, which was a decision that was most likely out of her hands. Spears continues writing that she won’t wear heavy makeup and perform on stage again due to not being able to perform to remixes of her own work and added that since she isn’t able to show her fans new music, she quits.

Spears specifically called out her sister, Jamie Lynn, for showing up to an awards show and performed Britney’s songs to remixes. the pop-star then wrote, “My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!! This conservatorship killed my dreams … so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill … yet people still try !!!!” 

She then moved onto the documentary, which she has slightly addressed in past Instagram posts, but now she seems more poignant. She said she didn’t like how it brought up humiliating moments from her past until switching to how women criticize Spears for enjoying or believing in fairy tales. “People try to kill hope because hope is one of the most vulnerable and fragile things there is !!!! I’m gonna go read a mother fucking fairy tale now !!!!” Spears wrote. “Psss if you don’t want to see my precious ass dancing in my living room or it’s not up to your standards … go read a fucking book ? !!!!!”

As Spears’ court hearings continue to move in her favor and the more she is able to speak out her mind, the more the truth is being revealed and the more her voice is finally being heard. And Spears is most likely going to continue posting dance videos as she pleases because she made it clear–she’s living on her own terms.
