Known for her subversive, interdisciplinary curatorial work, Brooke Wise brings a perspective rooted in humor, accessibility, and resistance to censorship. These values align seamlessly with the Foundation’s long-standing mission to champion artistic freedom and expression without compromise.
With a trajectory that spans exhibitions, film, and philanthropic projects, Wise has long been an ally of the Foundation’s vision. Her curatorial approach merges the archival and the contemporary, creating spaces where visibility, sexuality, and creative defiance converge. From her tenure at Artsy, where she led artist-driven charitable initiatives, to the creation of The Fine Art Quarantine Coloring Book (benefiting COVID-19 relief) and Aloha From Hell, an annual horror-comedy short film festival supporting Planned Parenthood.

In her new role, she will guide the Foundation’s curatorial strategy across exhibitions, public programs, and artist-facing projects, establishing new frameworks for audience engagement. Her approach aims to situate erotic art not as an isolated genre but as an essential part of contemporary cultural discourse, one that speaks to liberation, self-possession, and identity.
“As a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing creativity and dialogue, we are thrilled to welcome Brooke Wise as our new Chief Curator,” says S.R. Sharp, Director of Operations at Tom of Finland Foundation. “Her visionary approach to contemporary art and deep commitment to community engagement align perfectly with our mission to make art accessible and relevant to all.”
