Brother Vellies Releases “My Body My Choice” Collection in Support of Women Everywhere

Creative director Aurora James melds her passions for women’s rights and fashion

On June 24th, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the very piece of legislation that made abortion a constitutional right. The aftermath was devastating, leaving the fate of the female body in the hands of male-dominated state governments.

In support of the fight for bodily autonomy, Brother Vellies launches an intricate Doodle Boot collection for Women’s History Month. Set to launch on March 8th (AKA International Women’s Day) on BrotherVellies.com, the “My Body My Choice” collection features three new Doodle Boots and two new Doodle Mules in “Midnight” and “Caramel” colorways.

Since its founding back in 2013, Brother Vellies has dedicated itself to producing luxury accessories that celebrate forgotten histories. The brand’s creative director, Aurora James, sought to make a collection that fused her passions for complex craftsmanship and women’s rights.

Adorned with ornate floral designs, delicate hands, hearts, and the clear messaging of  “Bans Off Our Bodies”- a nod to a national abortion rights campaign that seeks to prevent political attacks on the female body- these powerful footwear designs have a lot to say. In the form of unmatched artistry, Brother Vellies stands in solidarity with women everywhere.
