BTS To Host World Expo Concert
The boyband will reunite in Busan to support South Korea’s World Expo bid.
Leading global boyband BTS announced more details for their world expo headline show on Wednesday.
The septet will headline the Global Busan Concert, also known as World Expo 2030 Busan Concert, on Oct. 15. The band’s performance, called BTS <Yet to Come>, is expected to draw a crowd of over 100,000.
All seven members of the band – Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – will perform at Busan Ilgwang special stage in Gijang-gun, Busan. The free concert will support the city’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo.
In addition to the concert, BTS was appointed to serve as ambassadors for World Expo 2023 Busan last month. “We will make extra efforts to not only support the bid, but also promote the beautiful nature and culture of the Republic of Korea worldwide,” the band said in a statement at the time.
For fans who can’t attend the actual concert, there will be an in-person Live Play broadcast for approximately 10,000 fans at Busan Port International Passenger Terminal Outdoor Parking Lot, alongside a global broadcast of the show.
BTS <Yet to Come> will be the first reunion concert for the band since the news of their hiatus broke in June.
