The British brand has unveiled a new campaign titled “The Trench: Portraits of an Icon,” a project dedicated to celebrating one of fashion’s most recognizable silhouettes and its enduring place within the brand’s identity. First developed in the early 20th century for British military officers, the trench coat has since become one of the most recognizable garments in fashion history. For Burberry, it represents both heritage and innovation, embodying the intersection of practicality, craftsmanship, and style.

Captured by renowned British photographer Tim Walker, the campaign brings together figures from across film, music, sports, and fashion. The portraits highlight the trench coat as both a design classic and a symbol of British creativity. Actors including Teyana Taylor, Jonathan Bailey, Daisy Edgar‑Jones, and Kristin Scott Thomas appear in the campaign, alongside musicians Kid Cudi and Little Simz. The lineup also features sports figures Jack Draper and Eberechi Eze, as well as a roster of models including Kendall Jenner, Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington‑Whiteley, Karen Elson, Agyness Deyn, and Erin O’Connor.
As Burberry approaches its 170th anniversary, “The Trench: Portraits of an Icon” turns the focus to the garment that has long defined the house. The project reflects both the brand’s heritage and the enduring relevance of its signature silhouette.
