Against the breathtaking natural beauty of a mountainous landscape, luxury British fashion house Burberry reveals its Fall/Winter 2020 campaign, celebrating the brand’s heritage of exploration.

With art direction and storytelling by Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci, the new Burberry campaign captures the pioneer spirit, the brave journey into the unknown instilled in the very fabric of the brand by founder Thomas Burberry, who invented Burberry’s signature smooth, durable gabardine cloth to enable pioneers to discover the unexplored.

The new campaign is reinterpreted for the modern-day, reinventing freedom and escapism into reimagined wanderlust, playing upon past memories and defining the enticing evocations of the future.

“This campaign is all about memories and reflections,” said Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer. “Recently I have really reflected upon my memories and of being at one with nature again a dream-like journey of another time, another place. Set in an ambiguous location—you could be anywhere—like in a dream, you have the freedom to make your journey what you want.”

The new collection, named “Memories” in remembrance of Tisci’s formative years and imbued with references from his upbringing and the places he visited (from London to India) juxtaposes Burberry’s signatures with contemporary silhouettes, styles, and prints for men and women. Building upon the rich heritage of the brand, Burberry’s beige color palette and classic duffle coats, trench coats, and clean tailoring is adapted to the modern lifestyle. 

Standout pieces from the collection include supersized Pocket Bags and the introduction of the Olympia bag, as well as new coats, dresses, and tops in Burberry’s signature checked print.

The campaign is compiled by a team of iconic talent including director Eli Linnetz Russell, photographer Danko Steiner, stylist Ana Steiner, Burberry Global Beauty Director Isamaya Ffrench, and hairstylist Gary Gill.
