Burberry Takes Over Hôtel Belles Rives

Merging British charm to Riviera glamor
Burberry has brought its distinctly British sensibility to the sun-soaked shores of the French Riviera this summer, unveiling its much-anticipated seasonal takeover of the legendary Hôtel Belles Rives in Cap d’Antibes.
Following last year’s celebration at Somerset’s The Newt, the house has traded rolling English countryside for Mediterranean glamor—which was at its peak thanks to the nearby Cannes Festival—transforming one of the Côte d’Azur’s most storied addresses into a fashion-forward retreat. Perched above the sparkling coastline in Juan-les-Pins, the historic and picture-perfect Art Deco property—once home to F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald (!)—has long embodied Riviera sophistication mixed with some of the world’s greatest, most creative minds.

Now under Daniel Lee’s direction, the brand’s iconic Check has been refreshed in a custom blue palette inspired by the Mediterranean, adorning the hotel’s famed beach club, sun loungers, parasols, private jetty, and waterfront terraces. Burberry branding extends throughout the property, from deck chairs and beach entrances to the hotel’s original 1920s elevator.
To mark the opening, Burberry hosted an intimate sunset dinner on the hotel’s iconic seaside terrace, gathering a stylish guest list including Simone Ashley, Maika Monroe, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Romeo Beckham. As the sun set over the Riviera, guests moved to the famed Fitzgerald Bar for cocktails soundtracked by DJ Benji B, celebrating the season in fittingly chic fashion.

Beyond its visual transformation, the takeover offers guests an immersive summer experience that blends fashion, leisure, and local heritage. Visitors can enjoy branded ice lollies beneath Burberry-dressed umbrellas at the Michelin-starred La Passagère, indulge in private beachside relaxation, or take part in curated watersport experiences along the coastline where waterskiing is said to have first emerged.
As it turns out, the Brits know how to put their own fashionable twist on the South of France, ultimately offering a playful yet chic take on the life of leisure along the French Riviera.
Our only question is—where will they go next year?
