Burberry’s new summer collection, Wish You Were Here, takes us back to simpler times — in particular, the summer time. The new campaign stars model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and British tennis player Jack Draper, alongside models Alva Claire and Babacar N’Doye.

The High Summer capsule collection celebrates the upcoming months, the most awaited (and beloved) of the year. This season, Burberry is all about tan lines, jumping off yachts, and relaxing.

Shot on a 35mm film camera, the campaign captures the golden essence of summer’s past, evoking a warm nostalgia that lingers long after viewing. The grainy texture and sun-drenched aesthetic remind us of cherished memories.

The models are featured wearing (and taking off) a mix of check swimwear and shirt dresses. Nautical motifs are incorporated in a Burberry style, like knots fashioned into logos and sailboats.

Inspired by its 1990s campaigns, the pictures are the ‘Burberry celluloid postcard’, says Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee, who found inspiration in the archives featuring ‘incredible yachting and holiday images,’.

The soundtrack ties the imagery together, and the ‘Shipping Forecast’ theme tune, transforms the campaign into what feels like the opening sequence of summer’s most anticipated film.

Burberry may have perfected the trench coat, but even this quintessentially English brand is looking ahead to warmer days—just like the rest of us.

Burberry will host High Summer takeovers at the Newt in Somerset, England, and the Standard in Ibiza!
