Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana Opens Its Doors To The Fashion Hub
In lieu of Milan Fashion Week, The Fashion Hub welcomes the latest and greatest of promising young international talents.
Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana (The National Chamber of Italian Fashion) continued to promote the latest and greatest of international talents by ensuring an ideal showcase, the Fashion Hub. Presented during the Milan Fashion Week Women’s Collection Spring Summer 2023, the event was hosted at the ADI Design Museum. With its doors officially open today, September 20th, the evening event kicked off with a celebrity patroness, the Italian actress Fiammetta Cicogna.
Initiating the opening ceremony, the CNMI president Carlo Capasa and Monika Schaller, Executive VP for Corporate Communications, Responsibility and Brand at Deutsche Post DHL Group, handed prizes to the three winners of the DHL Young Designer Awards. This year’s winners are Endelea – whose collection is on display at the Fashion Hub – Dhruv Kapoor, and Gentile Catone, all of whose brands can be located on the official CNMI calendar. With the award’s intention to support emerging designers’ talent, DHL seeks to provide concrete help throughout their overall expansion within DHL’s international markets.
During the ceremony, Gabriella Ruspa, Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development, DHL Express Italy, presented “The Upcycling Project.” The project featured promising young students from Istituto Modartech who worked out how to transform old DHL courier uniforms into new garments by applying circular economy principles. The three best projects submitted by the students became key visuals in a campaign aired on social networks. The prize for the best project overall went to fashion design student Erika Guarino, who presented her unique creation during the evening (it will be on show in a dedicated corner for the whole week).
The evening also saw the announcement of the winner of the Kia Designers Award, Edoardo Terribilini, who was given the opportunity to produce the wrapping of the KIA vehicle exhibited outside the Fashion Hub. Also, during the Hub opening ceremony and underlining the constant synergy between CNMI and Camera Buyer Italia, Carlo Capasa with Camera Buyer Italia’s Giacomo Santucci and Giuseppe Angiolini (respective president and board member in charge of communication and events) proclaimed Endelea, the winner of The Best Shops, a vital prize assigned by Camera Buyer Italia, with a special mention to Atelier Florania.
This prize will enable the designer to choose three boutiques from amongst the luxury multi-brands on The Best Shops circuit, which will dedicate space to the creators collection in their shop windows and dedicated corners. During the Milan Fashion Week, the Fashion Hub will also be hosting a series of meetings with important buyers to discuss new developments in the retail world.
Through a partnership with CNMI entertainment partner TikTok, the event’s official hashtag – #MFW – has been personalized by a creator and placed at the entrance to the Fashion Hub to boost visibility. Also inside the Fashion Hub is the VIP lounge CNMI provided for accredited media and buyers, open from September 21st through the 26th. Here it will be possible to toast with CNMI wine partner Franciacorta, which has been supporting CNMI’s events organization for years. The lounge is specially designed to welcome national and international operators and provide a catering service and space for meetings and networking between fashion industry operators.
For producing the Fashion Hub, CNMI wishes to thank Bonaveri, a leading producer of personalized mannequins, for being the project’s technical sponsor and CNMI institutional partner DHL for its support in the shipment of the mannequins used in the Fashion Hub. Thanks also go to Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana’s other partners: Mastercard, Sunday Riley, Wella Professionals, YKK Italia, and media partner Class Editori.
