Camila and Cardi B Team Up on Ed Sheeran’s “No. 6”

His “No. 6 Collaborations Project” is riddled with A-Listers, but it’s “South of the Border” with Cardi B and Camila Cabello that shines through.

If you’re a fan of musical collaborations, there was a pretty big handful released today, courtesy of Ed Sheeran. Sheeran has been dropping high-profile collabs over the last two month in lieu of his latest album, No. 6 Collaborations Project. But today, the whole anthology is available everywhere. If you thought we were kidding about that big handful, the album has 22 features over 15 songs (definitely more than a few). Despite the multitude of options, it’s Cardi B and Camila Cabello’s “South of the Border” that stands out amongst the pack.

The duo aren’t strangers to collaborations. Cabello joined forces with Shawn Mendes three weeks ago for “SeƱorita”, and Cardi’s most streamed song, “I Like It”, features J Balvin and Bad Bunny. Coincidentally, both of their aforementioned songs incorporate a Latin flair, something they utilize again in “South of the Border”. Over a tropical synth and trap drum kit, Cabello sings in Spanish throughout the song. Before it’s all over, Cardi comes in rapping about mamacitas and margaritas. Aside from its Latin influence, the song hovers over familiar territory: wanting to escape away with the person you love. After hearing it, you may want to go “South of the Border” with this song too.
