After her debut as artistic director of PUCCI one year ago, Parisian designer Camille Miceli took over the city of Florence–Emilio Pucci’s ancestral home–to present her first show. Titled “Initials EP.”, the PUCCI Spring Summer 2023 Collection displayed a palette of bright colors and bold prints across the panoramic dusk on the Arno River for a breath-taking effect.
Embraced by the magical Florentine background and a warm summer breeze, Miceli’s collection explored the carefree yet sophisticated silhouettes created by air and space. Taking the intertwining of natural elements and design to the next level, Miceli drew inspiration from Emilio Pucci’s official logo for NASA’s Apollo 15 space mission in 1971 which, for Spring Summer 2023, became a good omen for reaching new realms.
The runway was populated by motifs infused with a ’60s space-age vibe and shapes garnished with playfulness. For those who had the privilege to witness it live, the show soon turned into a true celebration of the Pucci art de vivre and an ode to a collection that felt at once escapist and wearable. Some of the pieces fully embraced the space theme thanks to crackling iridescence, the result of printed silk twill laminated with gold foil.
To start, there was a flowing caftan in the Pesce motif. As the model walked down the runway, the caftan was seen flowing as a kite in the sky–an image of lightheartedness and joy. It was followed by several all-white looks, such as a pair of fitted jeans, a contoured mini dress, and a crop top embellished with flowers. The collection also featured a series of denim–a bustier, ample jeans, and a fringed, shawl-collar Jacket–covered with the signature Marmo print.
For the beach, Miceli crafted subtly sexy silhouettes and details, such as long zips and sparkling strass. To finish the looks, PUCCI displayed increasing layers of gold jewelry and a new series of bags.
From the Daily bucket bag submerged in prints to the Puccinella in straw with a cheeky bikini detail, everything is designed to accompany you along the shore and boost your summer afternoons with fun.
