Canada Goose Continues Its Sustainable Mission With Capsule Collection

Italian artist Paola Pivi raises quirky and colorful environmental awareness

Continuing its work with its purpose platform HUMANATURE, Canada Goose joins forces with Italian contemporary artist Paola Pivi and longstanding partner Polar Bears International (PBI) to advocate for polar bears and protect the sea ice. With this limited-edition capsule collection, you will have the chance to contribute directly to the preservation of polar bear welfare because the brand will donate a portion of your purchase to PBI.

In the past years, Canada Goose has played a fundamental role in PBI’s mission, raising over $6 million to support their groundbreaking research, conservation efforts, and outreach around the world. Why? Since the increase of global warming and commercial activities, the Arctic region has turned hostile, threatening the survival of polar bears in their habitat. According to recent studies, if the ice keeps melting, polar bear populations are doomed to extinction by the end of the century.

Canada Goose took the safeguard of this species to heart, embracing a more green strategy that relies on sustainable raw materials, a net zero carbon strategy, and the reduction of waste. To enhance its slogan “keep the planet cold and the people on it warm,” the brand added the colorful quirkiness of artist Paola Pivi’s imagination. Each piece was crafted in conversation with her baby polar bear feathered sculptures, which mimic human mannerisms and characteristics, in an attempt to bring us closer to this cause. Specifically for this capsule, Pivi designed a camo print featuring vibrant bears intertwined, which can be seen on scarves, puffer jackets, bucket hats, and more. The seven-piece capsule is purposed to layer, explore the outdoors, and strut around the city. It includes the Atwood Vest, made from recycled materials and designed for unpredictable weather; the Paola Pivi Fleece, a never-go-wrong statement piece, made of Italian wool yarn; the classic Muskoka Crewneck, which comes in a cropped version with exaggerated sleeves, and a unique Paola Pivi patch; and fun accessories to complete your look, such as the Bucket Hat and the Recycled Feather Light Ripstop Down Scarf, both in prints. What can we all do to support this shared mission? Usually, we would enclose the animal’s habitat to protect it from external harmful agents and preserve its biodiversity. However, this is essentially impossible when it comes to the Arctic region. The preservation of polar bears requires a different approach – one that sees us all on the front line. To prevent the ice from melting, we must promote a sustainable lifestyle, transitioning away from fossil fuel-based energy and limiting our carbon footprint. A different world is possible if we all play our part.
