Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Announce Collaboration for Upcoming Single “WAP”

It’s already Song of the Summer.

Hot Girl Summer is making its way back this year — Earlier this week, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion announced their highly-anticipated collaboration for the upcoming single “WAP,” set to premiere on August 7.

Both rappers revealed the news and unveiled the official cover art on Instagram, which has since garnered millions of likes. The cover features the duo standing back-to-back in matching “WAP” gold hoops, their curled buns morphing together in front of a bubblegum pink backdrop. Megan captioned the post with a tongue out and a water droplet emoji, “@iamcardib and The Hot Girl Coach this Friday !!!”

This collaboration will be Cardi B’s first release as the main artist since her 2019 Single “Press.” This will also be Megan’s newest collab since the success of the “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé, and her recovery from multiple gunshot wounds. The rapper has since updated fans on her improving condition through Instagram Live. “I was shot in both of my feet,” she said via Instagram Live. “I was shot in both of my feet and I had to get surgery to get the sh*t taken out, to get the bullets taken out. It was super scary … it was the worst experience of my life and it’s not funny. It’s nothing to joke about. It was nothing for y’all to start making fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot. I didn’t do sh*t.”

Stay tuned for the release of “WAP” coming this Friday!
